EARLY DECEMBER AT FOXHOLLOW GARDEN - Part 2

At a bit of a loose end today, so another walk round the garden camera in hand to see if there is anything worth taking a photo of and trying not to photograph conifers, which is a bit difficult for me at times.
New area planted predominantly with ornamental grasses, heathers, and a few other choice bits and pieces….not a conifer in sight!
Leucothoe axillaris ‘Curley Red’
Detail of foliage on Pittosporum tenuifolium ‘Irene Paterson’
Chionochloa rubra – like a giant Carex comans ‘Bronze form’ but much larger better behaved and showier flowers (when in flower)
Berberis atropurpurea ‘Facination’ – still hanging on to its autumn foliage.
Got hold of this plant several years ago as Ophiopogen planiscapus ‘Silver Dragon’ but can’t find any true descriptive reference to the plant I have. it is distinctive with very short leaves and also produces white flowers, which is a bit unusual. Would be grateful if anyone can supply any additional info
Liquidambar styraciflua ‘Gum Ball’ – still in full leaf in early December, and will more or less remain so until about mid January
Erica x darleyensis ‘White Perfection’ – not in full flower, but contrasting well with the foliage from a blue spruce.
Just one conifer to finish with, couldn’t resit it! – Abies nordmanniana ‘Golden Spreader’ in the foreground.

Very lovely NOT conifer BlueSpruce...lol..but I still love your conifers best..something about the smell of them and the way they hold onto their needles I suspect...The shrubs and grasses make great backdrops for them.

That is a wonderful giant Chionochloa rubra how do you keep it looking so good do you comb it? My cat loves playing in the little ones and I do comb them with the grass rake.

Thank you all for your comments.
Denise - generally I don't touch the Chionochloa, it just seems to do its thing every year.

BS - I did a Google search on your ophiopogon and I think it is now classified as O.japonicus (it shows up on some American Nursery websites)

Hi Annella, still late Autumn in my book, winter doesn't kick in till January/February in my opinion :0))
Andrew, yes I think I have seen those, but that plant seems closer to Liriope, and also seems to have much longer foliage, I can't be certain though.
