absence

I have been missing from GOY for some time because I have been rather ill, but I am now slowly recovering. Part of the illness was due to an extremely bad reaction to tablets prescribed by the heart specialist I was referred to and the different number of doctors I saw while I was ill didn’t really help at all. However I have survived it all and am hoping I’m back to normal soon.
I have missed GOY and all the lovely people on there. Lol…

It's so good to see you back, Breda, but what a disaster to be made ill by the very medics who were supposed to be treating you. I'm so sorry that you've been suffering, and wish you the very best of luck with your recovery. We've missed you too! xx

It is so nice to have you back Breda sorry you have been poorly. Keep cosy and warm while it is winter time and when you go back into the garden again you can put some nice photos on for us again.

Glad to see you back on Breda and I hope you continue to stay well.

Glad to see you back soon. Hope you get better with each day.
Meds can be scary things sometimes.....I am taking milkthistle to help my liver and kidneys deal with all that I am taking.
22 Jan, 2012
Thank you, Lulu. I'm afraid I'm still struggling a bit, but slowly getting there. What is milkthistle? I have never heard of it. Is it a homeopathic remedy? Hope you are feeling well and the herb is helping.

Milkthistle is a plant extract which helps detox the liver after all those drugs!!! It was recommended upteen times before I actually decided to add it to my diet...here's hoping it does some good!!
Am feeling well (well sort of) but the stent and stones still hurt, usually more by the end of the day. So just taking things physically easy until it's removed!! And not drinking any alcohol. I am hoping I have actually gone off it, it's so expensive! Am using nicoteen patches to which has really cut down my smoking!!

I take Milk thistle too Lulu . . . makes me think I can still enjoy a glass of red every night. It must be tough giving it up though - sorry you're having a bad time. :((

I might give that a go myself as I am taking quite a lot of drugs too. Makes one worry about side effects but we must not dwell on that. Hope you feel better soon and I hope you are well too Sheila...

Thanks Breda . . . well, apart from feeling absolutely awful because of a cold, I'm fine! Isn't it amazing - with all today's technical advances, and a cure for something that we all get is still elusive.
24 Jan, 2012
Take care Breda. I hope you get better soon.

A cold, well that will soon clear up I'm sure.... tomorrow I have to go to the eye clinic so fingers crossed for me as I am really worried about the condition of my eyes. I can only hope I am worrying needlessly...
25 Jan, 2012
Thank you Frybo.

I do hope the eye clinic will put your mind at rest. Yes, compared to that, a cold is nothing!
25 Jan, 2012
Thanks Sheila, I did have good news from the eye clinic. I was told the problem was caused by the fact that my eyes are very dry so now I must put drops in at least eight times a day. Rather a bind but much better than being told it was anything more serious so I am very thankful. Hope your cold is better now...
27 Jan, 2012
Rather a bind than blind eh! I set my mobile phone alarm to remember things like that. Glad you are ok.
27 Jan, 2012
What a relief Breda, I'm so glad it's nothing more serious. Hope the drops work . .
27 Jan, 2012
Thanks Sheila, I am finding the drops a great help and am using them regularly as they make my vision almost perfect. I am so relieved....
29 Jan, 2012
You are so right, Lulu and I am being very good at remembering them, but then I keep them beside me at all times...
