Thanks TT. Very disappointing, and of course I hope he gets better soon as well. We shall be claiming on insurance of course, but dont know how much we will get back. Obviously it will take time to get all that sorted, but Dr. said he couldnt fly, its a virus of the inner ear, which makes him very sick and he's lost his balance.

Sorry to hear Your news, Vertigo its sounds like or( labranitas) not spelt right, but i get it some times, it can be very bad, i can't get out of bed for days. And you cant fly with that, i do feel for your friend, hope he gets better soon...

As you say, it's one of those things, pretty bad timing though. I do hope your friend recovers well. We flew off to a holiday a day after my husband had had a lumbar puncture test, the specialist said it would be fine, it wasn't and we should never have gone! Keep smiling. : o ) )

Thank you Bloomer, I appreciate the comments. Its just the suddenness of it all when it gets so close isnt it. I am just going to start unpacking !!

If going on holiday is what makes you happy then you have my sympathy and I hope you find compensation at home, though I doubt the weather here will help. Tricky things are ears, I sincerely hope your friend recovers. Happiness is a state of mind, count your blessings and you'll feel better.

Very wise words, thank you. I do love my home and garden and I have a lot to be thankful for, I shall be fine tomorrow. But going away for a few days also makes you appreciate what you have at home, and does you good too.

Sunday. 10.30 my friend phoned to say he was so much better he now wanted to go on the holiday. Would you believe it. Some miracle pills, and he didnt want to let me down. So I phoned the travel firm and they were lovely, and after an hour and half on tenterhooks they phoned to say that all had been reinstated. I cant believe it, but I am off. Good job I didnt unpack last night. So wont be able to reply to you all now, but tell you about it when I get back in 10 days lol
