The Blackbird, The mouse

Today is sunday morning, a lovely day, My husband is painting the ceiling and i’m out in the garden, we have a blackbird that has a broken leg, It’s been twice before, I can get really close to it, unfortunately the resident blackbird doesn’t like it being there, It chases it away, there is nothing that i can do ……
Our resident field mouse is still about, I usually put some nuts just outside his home about once a week, but i’ve forgotten this week, so he’s had to come out and get some of the nuts that i put out for the birds.
We have a Starling that thinks it’s a humming bird, I must try and take a picture next time, we have a round globe for peanuts, for the tits, this starling is trying to get at them.
I bought an arch for the garden last weekend, £4.99 from wilkinsons, going to get some clematis from the garden show in a couple of weeks, will get one for each side, If there not too expencive.

Sorry to hear about your blackbird with broken leg.If he manages to eat he could recover but at a disadvantage if not accepted. They are so terratorial now at nesting time. : ( Great pic of your mouse !

MUCH better to be in the garden than painting the ceiling! You made a good decision there. :-)

Bonkersbon, He eats well when he visits, but the resident blackbird won't let him stay, It's awful watching him trying to drag himself along, but he can fly. x

I am always telling people about my very favourite Clematis, Daff... 'Vyvyan Pennell'. She is a purple double in group 2, will flower very soon, and has another 'go' in August/September. Jacque has her and likes her too!
You could always plant a C. viticella on the other side, like 'Polish Spirit' or 'Etoile Violette' - they'd 'go' nicely, they flower in late summer...or an alpina for spring flowers, several lovely ones.

Thank you Spritz, I have jotted the names down, I do like the Vyvyan Pennell, I've looked it up on the bbc gardening, It says that it goes well with the Doctor Ruppel? I will get the Vyvyan Pennell. although it says that some experiance is needed.
