Well feeling quite pleased with my self today i’ve done all the grunt work (with a little help from my 3 little workers that got paid in ice creams) and can now start to think about what plants and flowers i would like. As you can see from the photos we all ready have a well defined area to work with

I have put a few pots that we had lying around in the back garden just to get a feel for what the garden might look like. Also the long one takes your eyes away from the base of the hedge that

Also we have this plant/tree could anyone please tell me what it is as i have no idea.

Job for tomorrow try to find somthing to go into the pots
and wash the car and thats about it.

Just catching up with weekend blogs Dan....what a find! You have made a massive difference already. You must be very please with yourselves. Ice cream labour - very cheap!! I usually pay my nieces in a similar way :)
Personally, I think that centre is screaming out for a Kilmarnock Willow - planting conditions allowing of course.
I think this has been a well cared for garden somewhere in it's past :)

it used to belong to a little old lady but she became too old to car for it and the garden became long forgotten as she became house bound. we were hoping to give it back some pride and love. (this is dans missus if you adnt already guessed lol)

Welcome to you too Mrs Squrill....you both must be very please with what has been achieved so far. It's good to know that you are both keen to give this garden back some of the love it deserves. I think we are all looking forward to seeing it progress. I can just warn you now - gardening and this site is very addictive :))))

Welcome to Goy Mrs Sqirill, when seeing the pics of the pattern Dan uncovered it was obvious the garden had been well cared for in the past, I hope you both get enjoyment of putting life and colour back into it...
