When these photos were taken it was just a year old :)

My word, everything looks so pretty and so green. In these wintry days we tend to forget how good our gardens can look in the spring and Summer - thank you for reminding us.

I do love your pond, Dan! It’s so full of greenery and interest. There’s lots going on, isn’t there! Pics 1 and 2 are my favourites. Loving the shades of green and all the different textures and leaf shapes too.

Cheers guys, because the garden is so small I like to pack it full of colour and texture when I can! Then it’s not just a boring rectangle! I try and keep a lot of airspace open to make it feel bigger, in the next two weeks there’ll be a noticeable change happening, with a large structure and seating area but it’ll also make room for more planting space in a roundabout way!

Your last pic... I can see why you like that waterfall.. beautiful design .. and it is very brave and perceptive of you to recreate it. Good luck.🙂

Your hostas look great. How do you keep the slugs away?

Just about recreated it today guys! (I’m feeling much better hence being physical in the garden) now to enjoy one last day off work, back in for 4 days and then back off for 15 holiday time for a very very big project!!

Hi AB- I’ve got gravel under all of my plants and the slugs and snails seem to hate it!!

Well done, nice good size pond (very good for the fish). Love the water Lillies and particularly the last pic looking very natural with the helixine crawling to reach the water.

I like the way you have done your pond Dan! Is it very deep as I would like to do a little pond in our garden and can't go too deep as it is clay soil?

Hi Rose! One of of my pond is 2 foot and that's a fine depth to stop it freezing. The other end of it is 4 foot deep :) digging through clay and a stone barn under the garden wasn't a fun task :)

If you go ahead with it. Do a little bit everyday! That’s what I did! I find that wetting the ground with a hose helps to loosen it up too!
