It's a bit wet but...

I haven’t posted anything for a while as we have been building a new wall at the front of the house but I thought I’d give you a quick up-date on how my garden looks at the moment.

Just kidding! This was taken while we were having the roof ‘de-mossed’. What a mess! I ended up having two full days work after the men had gone what with cleaning the terrace and all the windows!!

What it’s really like now.

Mant people seem to be having problems, but my small box of impatiens seems to doing ok – if a bit wet today!

your garden looks wonderful, what is the lovely golden coloured heuchera that is doing so well?
i would be interested to know if the moss cleaning is successful; we have a north facing roof that is covered in the stuff.

Your garden is beautiful. Is that Heuchera Marmalade in the border, looks like it to me.

Your garden is very beautiful and very tidy. Congratulations.

Thanks Sticki. The heuchera is 'Caramel'. Lovely isn't it?

As far as I can tell the moss cleaning worked. At least all the moss has gone. The roof has been treated now, so hopefully we won't get any more for the next ten years - or so they say!!

Unfortunately we have got asbestos tiles, and the stupid roofmen (or should I say cowboys) used a high pressure spray which I think has exposed some of the fibres - need to get it checked. (I didn't realise that a high pressure system shouldn't be used on asbestos tiles until after they had gone!) If so we will have to get the whole roof coated! Not only that but they have broken at least ten tiles so at the least we will have the expense of getting specialist removal of the old tiles and then miss-matched new tiles put on. So, if you want your moss removed make sure you get a reputable firm in or do it yourself!

Thanks Cindarella. No it's 'Caramel'. I'd like 'Marmalade' but can't seem to find it here. I think I'll have to get it mail-order from the UK. Thank you for your nice comments Coshad.

You may have a distressed roof but you`ve got a beautiful garden.

LOL Stickie. Perhaps they should name one toffee - just for you.

Thanks very much Stroller. I did wonder about the garden at one stage - all that moss flying around when I've got enough of the stuff in the lawn already!

Lovely garden.

You had me going at the start there! Your garden is beautiful Diggin! Must look out for that heuchera too, it does look lovely in that spot.

Thanks Frybo and Libet. That particular heuchera obviously likes where I put it. It's done far better than any of the others I've got.

I've found out by trial and error where to put different heucheras. Some like the sun and others prefer shade, even though planting instructions that come with them say full sun or partial shade - not particularly helpful!

I agree Frybo. Caramel is actually in a part shaded spot that remains quite moist.
