Hastings pier in the rain a sorry sight

Hastings pier is now closed for safety reasons which makes it a sad pic. I love walking along the sea front even in the rain as it goes on for miles.

Its a lovely town the old cricket ground is now a shopping centre and the old town is very historic and lovely to walk through, there is also the fishing net huts over 100 years old and the fishing boats still sell fresh fish after a catch. Now with the university it is really up and coming place.

Glad to hear Hastings is on the up, it was getting a bit run down last time we were there a few years ago when my mother in law lived there. Lovely by the old fishing huts and up to Fairlight Glen. Takes me back.....

Oh, that is sad - we used to visit Hastings for the day from Kent - loved it there - and Fairlight, too! I hope it does improve. :-((

I must say, when I saw Hastings pier(for the first time ever) a few months ago(that was in the rain as well) I thought it looked a pretty sorry sight. But I also thought other parts of the sea front looked a bit forlorn as well, but then we found the old town and a great (very old) inn/pub which was serving food. It was fantastic.
