Been a good year for Petunias, but I hate dead heading as they are so sticky

those apricotty/orange/yellow colours are lovely. though I don't like petunias. I don't know why. they do a wonderful display however.

Your petunias displays are iconic! Took my breath away.

They all look wonderful, petunias at their best. I really like your last container too, very pretty.

I got some double flowered ones without realising, and I am growing to like them, but they are doubly gross when you have to dead head them, sticky heavy and wet - yuk.
Will keep them, but won't buy again even though they do last well.
Lovely display you have!

I have a constant battle with slugs eating my Petunias. Yours look wonderful.

Thanks everyone, I must say I have not really grown them for some years, I did this year having forgotten how sticky and backache inducing the dead heading is. I think I will go back to Geraniums next year as they need less care and much less watering.

They look lovely Denise, some really bright splashes of colours, I don't grow many for the same reason, deadheading is a yukky nightmare, I have enough to do working my way around the roses and don't get me started on my everlasting sweetpeas, lol....

Denise, what a lovely blog showing all those colourful Petunias. Fabulous! I used Petchoa within two manger basket plantings this year. Nowhere near as sticky to deadhead as Petunias. Will put a photo on for you in a bit ...

I agree,you have a lovely display,and I do like the colours too..I don't mind deadheading,but I haven't as many Petunia's as you..so far no stickiness either,but it won't be for much longer,I'm sure !

Thanks, the petunias in the three urns now meet and look like one wide display.

I dead head my petunias with a pair of very small scissors, it sems to work for my plants .
My favourites are the multi coloured ones on your lovely table.

I was thinking the same! I haven't had petunias for a while and obviously forgotten how tedious and sticky the deadheading is! Will give them a miss next year. Yours are looking stunning.
