I Saw a Mouse....Where?

We now have a rescue cat from the Cats Protection League. Her name, which came with her, is Sage though she does not seem to recognise it. She is 12 years old as we wanted an older cat; one more in keeping with our age range!

She is very loving and has now started bringing in little gifts. So far we have received, two young dead rats, one dead shrew, one live shrew, and two live mice. We were able to literally show the door to one of these but the other hid under a sideboard.

I cleared one of the sideboards and moved it expecting to find the mouse but, of course, it had vanished. So, I had to put down some food for it every night while I waited for a humane trap to be posted to me.

It arrived yesterday and I laid a trail to the trap with some smelly cheese. It worked! This morning I found a little face peering at me through the clear plastic. Sage wasn’t a bit interested so we were able to take the trap out and release the mouse on to the heath along with the bait which was considerably smaller.

Wonder if the mouse is still talking about its holiday and the B&B it found at the end!
