The Magnolias

As I have said often, we are getting on in years, and a gardener now is a necessity.
My OH is getting a new greenhouse for his birthday to encourage him to potter about in there and leave the heavy work to someone else. He is not happy about that!
The compost area is now exposed and needs attention. Am encouraging OH to come up with some ideas. It’s a decent-sized area and I’d like it hidden.
The garden is waking up and the magnolias have surprised us by looking really good this year. When the frosts arrived we really thought we would have a poor show. Odd!
The robin is feeding a youngster but we have not seen the tits occupying any of the nesting boxes though they showed interest before the snow arrived. Not many birds about.
The pond fish are happy to swim near the surface these days. The waterfall should be in action but daughter broke an electrical connection this afternoon trying to help! An electrician is now needed !!
Sunny today and the sky is a glorious blue. It’s Spring, Spring, Spring!

A lovely show of colour, and I`m sure your OH will gradually come to enjoy his pottering and leave the rest to someone else.

The shrubs will look good, hopefully, in a few weeks. The trouble is for the rest of the year, it's just greenery! That is why I am so keen on container gardening. Tubs can be scattered here and there to give some welcome Summer colours.

the birds are getting frisky in our garden too. I'm fed up of the mess the pigeons and collared doves are making but we have a pair of wrens nest building. robins have been courting as have the blackbirds and bluetits. lots of others around but if they are nesting I've not seen any obvious signs of where they are.
the garden looks lovely eirlys. I am sure OH will enjoy the pottering.
