What a Corker !

Like most of us here I tend to rather take the sun for granted – unless of course when the weather fights back!
Today however, even by our standards is an absolute corker. I have spent most of the morning pottering about the garden. Mostly pruning and deadheading. My three Hibiscus (or is that Hibisci?) continue to flower their heads off. A yellow with red centre currently has 4 blooms 5 inches across. A similar sized white with a red throat has 3 blooms and the ‘baby’ Peach flushed red only has buds today. Yesterday it had 3 blooms though. Such a pity the flowers only last a day – they do make a mess when they literally curl up, die and drop off! The Vincas are still flowering well as are both Solanums. The pot ‘mums’ which I planted into the beds are absolutely full of buds too. I found a single flower today on one of my Clematis (brought over from Morrisons) and even 2 of my Osteospurmums have started to flower again!
At lunchtime I braved the pool for a quick dip (that has cooled down!) but still v pleasant.
Funny whilst I was gardening (and watching the cats ‘flat out’ enjoying the sun) I couldn’t help thinking of Conker (and Truffle) I do hope he continues to improve TT.
This sort of weather always makes you feel good, even if you are lucky enough to be healthy.

We've seen blinks Tt and Mr MB has done another hours digging in the new veg garden but it was not what you would call a glorious autumn day!

Yes it was a lovely sunny day but I didn't see any of it at work! Poo! Your cats love sunning themselves too then?!

Sounds grand Chris, we`re still having lovely sunny days although a tad chilly if working in the shady parts, pleased to say I still have lots of colour in the garden so its out every day deadheading but whilst the flowers keep coming I`ll continue, gotta keep them going as long as possible, lol,........

These October days can be quite "summery" some years! The year we got married we spent a month or so in the villa of a lady friend of ours who used to spend the winter in her enormous & luxurious flat in Valencia. I did some gardening in her villa which was built on the side of a VERY steep hill in Cuenca.
During the summer she had had a new "flying" terrace built over the garden & my wife & I had our lunch every day on the terrace, basking in the warm sun of October.
Another warm October I remember was when we came back to the UK 8 years ago. We stayed in a tent at a camping site for 2 1/2 months. We had many warm days during that October although many nights were also frosty!

Hi, Chris.
I can imagine your cats, sunning themselves.. Lol.
Conker is feeling well today, thanks. He and Truffle have been relaxing.....sunbathing in my back garden, watching me doing the hard work... drilling wood, digging holes.... Lol.
England is also enjoying some lovely sunny days this week.
