My niece got married yesterday in the Orangery at Sherborne castle … home of Sir Walter Raleigh.
To protect every one’s privacy …. especially the 2 little bridesmaids … I haven’t posted any photos of folk but the flowers beds were full of colour altho’ it was a bit cloudy when I snapped the castle!

You can see the Orangery behind these …

A new nasturtium I bought at GC & a yellow daisy thingy …

The berberis is looking red & lovely & the clematis is out …

Morrissey says … what’s occurring Ma? He always follows me round the garden …

And this little plant …I’ve got the label so gonna be cocky now … Bacopia -‘Snowflake’ has spread out & is flowering like a real trooper!

First flower from yellow potentilla …

Sunflowers ready to plant out … you can see my greenhouse is more of a cat house this year with the bed & dish!

Pretty little ‘Million Bells’ in watering can … they welcome me as I walk in the gate!

And if anyone remembers our decking fiasco last year & the orange ‘decking paint’ that made it resemble a helipad … this is the state of it after a winter’s weather … I refuse to spend any more cash on the bl**dy thing!

Mysterious black cat says ‘well I don’t care what colour the decking is … it’s still warm to lie on in the sun!’.

Really lovely pics Fluff and what a lovely setting for a wedding. My nasturtiums are only about 3" high so far although I did grow them from a free packet of seeds.....I thought they were fast growers...mine aren't! lol. Hhmmm your decking looks nearly as bad as mine, wish I'd never had it put in but a word of warning, don't let hubby near it with a pressure washer or it'll look even worse!! :o(((

Thanks 6d, Shirley & Clarice ... I've been feeding everything so hope it pays off!
Morrissey has to get in on the blog sixpence!
I never know where to plant nasturtiums Lily ... they seem to like rubbish soil or good soil depending on their mood!!
Decking is a nightmare ... I think hubby has been near it too many times already! :o//

Fluff - is your cat named after the singer ?

12 Jun, 2010

Yep! The Smiths. Blame the husband ... he's mad about them! :o)

Lovely scenes of the castle & gardens, Fluff! Congratulations on your daughter's wedding! They certainly chose a beautiful place to tie the knot!

The pictures of your garden are great, too.

Looks like a nice castle and surrounding area Fluff and some nice plants in your own garden.

I had the Bacopa last year and it's really nice. Gives a nice show.

Hope you enjoyed the wedding:o))

Sorry Fluff, after reaching the end of your blog & people's commentaries I'd forgotten it was your NIECE's wedding & not your daughter's, sorry for the mix-up!

Beautiful setting for a wedding Fluff. Glad the weather stayed fine for you all.

The colour on the decking didn't last long, did it? I remember reading about it, was it only last year?

13 Jun, 2010

hey hey no worries Balcony ... I have the same problem!

Yes silverbelle it was last year! After a winter it has given up!

13 Jun, 2010

There's a lovely lavender one, slightly larger flowers, and 2 pink ones, one with white in the middle....very pretty. There is also a white double flowered one, but you don't get as many blooms......

13 Jun, 2010

A great blog :o). The grounds of the castle were very colourful.
I had that yellow plant last year. I've forgotten the name. It's very pretty and forms a large clump. Lovely to see Morrissey enjoying following you about :o)

Khayla ... thank you ... million bells never let you down! I've just asked my hubby where Clackmannanshire is & he said he used to stay in Tillicoultry when he was lorry driving!

Thanks Flori ... that's a lovely thing to say. The setting was amazing ... I only wish I'd taken more pics but I had to keep my mother in check lol!!

I must look out for those then Amble ... they sound lovely. Thank you.

Hywel ... thank you too ... the flower beds were so full of plants I'd never seen before ... there was something with HUGE leaves but again I wasn't free to wander about taking pics as Mum gets fretful if I leave her side. Morrissey's much the same!! He used to not care who came to the house but now he's older he's more clingy & worried about strangers.

13 Jun, 2010

That's mothers lol. Mine was the same. After she came to stay here she wasn't willing for me to leave her at all. Really it's because she was frightened.

13 Jun, 2010

It must be scary Hywel ... going deaf, unsteady on your feet, worried about what life is going to throw at you next. My mum lives alone but surrounded by family but when she's out & about with me she doesn't like to lose sight of me.

13 Jun, 2010

Make the most of her :o)

13 Jun, 2010

I do Hywel.xx
