ENJOYED TODAY

Well I can’t tell you how much I have enjoyed my garden today. I’ve made a cold frame out of one of the raised beds in my front garden. It’s a bit odd seeing one in front of the house, but it works and it’s not too bad looking, and it will be full of plants very quickly, it’s half full already. There’s that much gardening stuff all over the garden peat, pots, potted plants, makeshift cold frames and pegged down polythene and of cause the piles of rubbish here and there in the back garden. I know it will get cleaned up eventually, just need it done yesterday. My tulips and early stuff are doing fine. Did I tell you how I planted most of my bulbs, the ones in the borders, because they overlap with wanting to put my bedding plants in and needing to remove the bulbs when they should not be lifted. Well what I did was put them in pots and buried the pot. Now I can lift them a little early without disturbing the roots so that they can prepare themselves for next season….. Got to go now see you all soon FRANK

You have certainly been busy Frank, taking advantage of the decent weather.
It would be nice to see a photo of your coldframe. Good idea about the bulbs, as long as you have space for all the pots of bulbs when they have to come out.

I know it's not quite the thing to do by putting coldframes and such things in the front garden, Terratoonie but it is the best place as far as the sun is concerned. The trees behind the house just barely let the sun through, although it's getting brighter, the sun is only hitting my garden for a short time in the day, untill it get's higher in the sky. I think I might put some trough's full of bulbs that I have got in front of the frames to hide them. My neighbours don't mind, they know, they will get their share of the plants. Like most of you I grow far more than I need. If I think about it tomorrow I will take a photo to show you all. It is only makeshift.
Mad, When the bulbs have died back enough I will take them out of the pots to store them.
And yes it is great to be back nearly in full flow doing the G/H. and garden
see you all FRANK

Hello Frank, glad to hear you had a good day in the garden. There's nothing wrong with having a cold frame in your front garden. You make things so well I'm sure it adds. If you look on my pics, you will see that I have a plastic greenhouse in my front porch, in full view, as it's the only place there is room and light.:-)
