Green tour

When the workmen knocked off for the day, I took my camera and went out into the green for the first time ever …
when I’m taking “panoramas” I overlap each photo, so I can match it up with the one before – saves a lot of puzzling over which order they should be in!
Sadly, I’m not sure that all this space is “mine” – I did write to the council “adopt a garden” team suggesting a mini-nature reserve, bee and butterfly friendlyplants, bee and insect homes, etc, but he said he thinks that the council alreay has a plan for this space. But at least I can put a few plants in tubs out while I’m waiting to hear their plan.

thanks Scottish: next prob is to find someone to go with me, partly to help me get there and partly to calm me down!
the space under one of my grden tables is chock full of tybs and trughs that I don't have room to get out - I'll start putting a couple just ousdie the gate, then a couple more, then ... Until I'm sure if I'm staying, I'm not oign to plant anything that I can't take with me!

A buddliah would be nice out there Fran, they attract the butterflies and grow quite quickly, it's a great space.

until I'm sure what the council's own scheme is, I won't put anything into the ground, but I have at least a dozen large tubs that I don't have room for - or didn't until now! I can get a proper buddleia, rather than the mini Baby Buzz that fell over after a couple of months - at least a bigger plant should be more resilient and tolerant of learners!

Oh yes Fran, buddlias are pretty tough plants, they grow in any soil.

Following from the comment at the end of your other blog Fran - I hope the place in Shrewsbury is a real gem and it's suitable for you.
That gate will be a godsend for you if you stay. You could always carry out a bit of guerrilla gardening ;)
