In this bleak weather , first comes first . sorry little wagtail..

6 Jan, 2010

Thanks Toto . This harsh weather very tough on them as primarily ground feeders and populations crash when ground frozen.

We had some real bad weather back in early 80s and recall a huge flock of these and fieldfares stripping all the berries from pyracantha hedging in minutes - you may get to see some this year Gee as here you re due for some more heavy snow showers.

Little wagtail gets his fair share of mealworms Deida and not really interested in fruit so cant complain can he ..

Well done BB for getting two such lovely ones together ... I'm glad I stored our apples in a draw this autumn they are coming in useful this weather :o)

I know your birds do'nt get short BB ..just looked if wagtail got a bit yealous lol

6 Jan, 2010

Amazing the amount they can get through Amy we have 3 apple trees and do the same nearly all gone now ..

So many of us do this Deida lets hope we can minimize the severe effects this weather often causes them.
