Thanks, Sheila ..
Usually, this climbing Iceberg rose produces lots of flowers in the springtime, and then more in late summer, and then a few over the winter ...
... but to have so many flowers in December is remarkable
... very welcome ! :o)

Lovely TT, and beautiful sunshine and blue sky in the background. It's been very grey here today. Happy New Year everyone.

Thanks Bob and Sticki ...
The silver birch in the background always looks lovely in the winter sunshine.
Happy New Year :o)

Not much in the way of christmas tv this year and didn't expect to see anyone on here. Can't believe your iceberg is still flowering.I shouldn't have done my pruning so early!Hubby's engrossed with boxing day sport ! Boring!

Hi Rose ...
Iceberg is determined to keep on flowering ! :o)
I'm enjoying some good old movie musicals on TV, even though I've seen them many times before ! Lol.

26 Dec, 2011
Lovely to see this rose out today think I may have to put it on my list!!
26 Dec, 2011
Hi Jen ...
This rose took a while to become established ..
In fact, the first couple of years, I almost gave up on it, but I guess it knew the way I was thinking, because it suddenly spurted new growth and has been happy ever since.
It was given to me a number of years ago by my good friend Mr. H. who has been having hospital treatment lately, suffering with kidney problems. He'll be delighted to know how very well Iceberg is blooming :o)))

It's so good to see roses still in full bloom - even at Christmas! This rose of yours is really lovely, TT! :-))
26 Dec, 2011
Thank you, Balcony...
My Iceberg Rose was absolutely shimmering in the blue sky this morning.
I couldn't resist going out in the garden with my camera. :o)

Blue sky?????? Want some!
Superb roses :) does your Betula go yellow in the autumn?
26 Dec, 2011
Incredible. Paul, is this normal in December in England?
26 Dec, 2011
Lovely to see your Iceberg doing so well and with a blue sky to highlight it, non here alas - windy and wet in Wales today! I went for a walk anyhow and was nearly blown off my feet - it did nothing for my hair style either but it was exercise!!
26 Dec, 2011
Hi Severnside ..
Thanks. Amazing iceberg roses this winter ...
More blue sky this morning :o) The Betula is in the garden next door. The tree has rather outgrown the space ! It has pretty silvery bark. The leaves turn yellow late autumn and then cascade all over my garden ! But there is a compensation ... it is a pretty tree.
27 Dec, 2011
Thanks, Neena ...
Glad you were able to go out walking, despite the windy weather !
27 Dec, 2011

Hi Clarice .. Thank you ..
Happy holidays to you, Jack and Tilly.
Yes, thanks. We had a lovely time. :o) xxx
27 Dec, 2011
So pleased you had a nice time, i've got one of my sons and daughter-inlaw coming tomorrow and tomorrow night we are all going out for a family meal for my sons, daughters and their wives and partners plus grandchildren, unfortunatley there will be one son and daughter-inlaw plus two grandchildren missing as they live down south near to Hollyeves, but they will be in my thoughts.
27 Dec, 2011
Glad you're seeing most family members, Clarice, and there'll be a chance in the new year to enjoy time with the four living down near the south coast. :o)
27 Dec, 2011
Hoping to go down there sometime in summer, its such along way from Blackpool, it takes around 6hrs driving during the night & around 8hrs in the day....
27 Dec, 2011
That's a tiring drive, but it will seem an easier prospect when the weather is warmer. :o)
27 Dec, 2011
Lucky you, having sunshine we didn't get any :((((((((((
27 Dec, 2011
Hi Sue ..
Today and yesterday the weather started off wonderfully... blue skies and sunshine in the mornings, but clouded over as the days progressed... but the bright sun was very welcome :o)
27 Dec, 2011

29 Dec, 2011
Hi Carole ... Thanks ..
It was sunny again earlier today ...

That's a lovely picture TT...hard to believe it is midwinter from that lovely rose and the blue sky. I have a couple of new roses out as well...I can't get over them really...so lovely. It's a pity they have no discernible scent in this cold weather though..but you can't have it all!
30 Dec, 2011
Hi Karen. Thanks.
Must admit I haven't been up a ladder to sniff the roses...

Hi TT. Iceberg still blooming in December=lower utilities bills. Good news all round!!!! I can't say our 'holidays' have been marvellous TT. Different would be the word. We have certainly had some unusual visitors...community nurses/carers/ a doctor/online food/a fox in full daytime view asleep in the garden. More usual friends/neighbours/some family, but most crocked up themselves locally, or too far to come. My early Camellia thinks it's March. Last year....thats when the first flower bloomed!!!
