The purest of whites. Thank you birds or wind or whatever brought it.

Yes. And in a spot where I might have planted it myself!!

Good of you to be honest ...
... that it wasn't part of your own planting plan ;o)

That's a real beauty, I don't think I've ever seen such a pure white on a foxglove.

Yes a real lucky chance. Must get the seeds, scatter some and grow some in trays. But will they come white I wonder? Do foxgloves come true or do they behave like aquilegias and play the lucky dip game.

lucky dip i fear?

Funny enough, I was going to ask you about whether they'd come true, Inverglen - I'm too tired to do the research tonight ;-)

Have just read a few websites and can answer my own question. Stickitoffee is right. One member has a blog about this and cuts down all the purple ones to try and preserve only the whites etc. but surely the problem is that your own garden fence is a totally artificial border that plants and insects etc. do not recognise so you must be on a losing wicket . Anyhow, I will try sowing some and see what happens.
If anyone else wants seeds of this white one just let me know. That's if they ever ripen in this weather.
