New birdbath

I bought this a few weeks ago now, not seen anyone using it though :-(
It's about 2' high and a nice subtle colour, it's in the front garden ... which is looking decidedly drab at the moment :-(

Has it got any water in it ?

Joking apart, You will soon have them swooping in, especially large Pidgeons
using up all the water, Keep topping it up!!!

Thanks Jacque :-))
I hope they come soon :-/

Freesiaperson, yes there's water in it .... oddly enough, the water level 'does' change so something's happening !!!

Owl bath ? ;-))

28 Jan, 2010

It's a lovely bird bath. Looks reasonably near the bushes, so not too far out in the open to deter the birds...

LOL Muddy :-))

Thanks TT, yes, it's close to the Escallonia hedge and a lot of the small birds use that for shelter.
Also, there's 'the jungle' close by too, so lots of shrubs and small trees there aswell.

I'msure they while use it once they know where it is..

I love it Louise and I'm sure the birds will once they get used to it, they are always a bit slow to take something new - you wait, once they realise its there for them you will be cursing at having to fill it everyday!

Thanks Busylizzy :-))

Thats nice Louise....

28 Jan, 2010

Mmmmm...very elegant...You might find the birds will use it more when the water is a bit more "brackish"....we've noticed they don't like the water too "clean"....

Alice, i'll make sure i sling some bits in and make it look muddy ;-)

29 Jan, 2010

29 Jan, 2010

Thanks Grindle, i'm really pleased with it :-)
It came from the chocolate GC ..... much cheaper than the 'other' place too, i was surprised at that !!!

29 Jan, 2010

I think the other one is making up for lost time :(

29 Jan, 2010

I saw some there but they were the stone effect, moulded ones ....not a patch on these.

29 Jan, 2010

Chocolate garden centre ? Is it for women only ?

29 Jan, 2010

LOL
Grindle used to live near here and she knows this garden centre !
Because we don't want to advertise its name we use the word chocolate instead of its real name, its name and choc go together !
Think of a recent take-over ....... ;-)

29 Jan, 2010

Ha ha, Louise I got it but what is the " other place"?

29 Jan, 2010

Close to the town of Burnham on Sea, Valadel !

29 Jan, 2010

Right-------not sure about that one, ------- however the bird bath is brilliant!

29 Jan, 2010

Lovely birdbath Louise,

I am afraid mine hasnt been used much yet either.I bought it in the autumn.

I think you may see it on a blog I am drafting eventually.

I wasn't too keen on the look or feel of the stone-effect moulded ones, they were dearer than this stone one too !!!
