Thanks for all the lovely comments. The grasses were gorgeous but failed again to overwinter them. Will definitely have them again this year but haven't found them on sale yet.

I'm impressed. Not a weed or a leaf out of place. Awesome.

Really gorgeous Lily. Is that a shrub wall in back. How tall is it? I like your planters too. Gives me new ideas for mine.

Thanks Regina. It's a 15' high leylandi hedge in the backgound (the one in which the ducks nested in my recent blog!) It's about 45' long and 10' wide so is a bit of a monster and has to be trimmed regularly. Rather dominant for my small garden really. The planters were lovely last year and have just replanted them the same this year, can't wait for them to get this big!

Wow, the hedge most be very old ( excuse me mature). You don't see tight hedges like that in NJ unless it's on a estate and even then there just not the same.

Love your garden Lily2, we also have a leylandi hedge although not as big - it's about 20' long and is now probably about 17' high but only because hubby keeps chopping it down a bit. If we'd left it it would probably be around 25'-30' by now. It's got to the stage now where I think we might have to get someone in to lop it in the future. I do like it because of the privacy it offers, but it's a job to keep in shape!

Thank Jan, glad you like it. We have someone to trim the hedge once a year. Mixed feelings about it really, we inherited it but like you say, it gives great privacy to us and the neighbours. The birds love it anyway.
