Balcony from street 8th August 2010

This is a photo of my balcony as seen from the street on August 8th 2010! Actually it's taken from the side rather than face on so as to give a different perspective.

Thanks, Valadel! :-) I do try to keep it looking nice. The strings are for the Morning Glory to climb up.

At present they are still climbing up the chicken wire but very soon they will be climbing up the strings as well. :-) I took a couple of photos this morning but very soon there will be dozens open in the mornings.

Waiting eagerly to see them.

And me !

The very first flower on the strings will open tomorrow! It's just above the railing top but I don't know if I'll be able to take a photo because we are forecast strong winds & heavy rain over night & during the first few hours after breakfast.:-( We have been praying for rain for weeks but we didn't want it delivered in this fashion!

Looks stunning Balcony. Lots of color. My morning glories may not have time to open. I'm forcing them with bloomer but nights are 3C already and they don't like that much.

Hope your rain comes a little weaker than forecast. :-)

"Hope your rain comes a little weaker than forecast. :-)"

I think it did! The wind I seem to remember was quite strong. We had a real day & a bit of rain on the 25th & all day on the 26th. No more rain since then & now the allotment is beginning to dry out again. I will have to start watering again next week unless some more rain happens along.

Since Sunday we have had some lovely warm sunshine again so the title of my last blog "End of summer ... " was rather pessimistic!

The last Monday in August is a bank holiday in the UK normally it has fame for being cold & wet but not this year! You couldn't have asked for a nicer day, although you could have asked for less wind! Here in the East of the country we had some quite strong winds, especially in the evening. But September has begun very warm - it seems we had a maximum temperature of around 22ÂșC!

I've added some photos of my Morning Glories in flower. Just go to my pictures to see them. Only got the purple ones this year saved from my own seed.
