I've just dug out all my petunias as they have been ruined by the rain and looked a real shambles.

Thats a shame Lin but know how you feel, the rains have spoilt so many plants this summer, my Starburst isnt looking great either.
4 Aug, 2009
Shame the rain spoils the plants so much. :( It's only affected my red Carnations, they become all balled up & start to go mouldy if I don't remove them in a couple of days. The other Carnations are not so badly affected. The same happens on some of the double Geranium flower heads.

Yes Balcony my geraniums have gone mouldy too so I've been picking the heads off. The jet stream changing seems to have given us a very wet Summer this year. I think that with the ice caps melting and the desalination of the sea, it's changing all the weather patterns across the Earth. I think we are getting the weather in the Midlands, that Scotland usually has. It's all to do with climate change....and we are to blame for that. There are too many people on the planet using too much of the Earth's resources and are not prepared to give up the lifestyles that they have and it's at the point of no return that we are at. The forrests in the tropical regions of the world are being ripped out and replanted with palm oil plants and that is changing the weather as well. You can't really blame the people in the poorer countries wanting to earn themselves money with the resources that they have, but I'm afraid it's a catch 22 situation, and the world suffers so does the wildlife and fauna, and really that should have priority as it was there before us. Just my thoughts folks.......

Agree with you entirely Lin, too many greedy and self centered people these days, afraid in my estimation morals and self pride have gone out of the window! well good to get that off my chest lol

We need to be teaching the youngsters about respect, morals and politeness at home and in the community.I help to run a club at church for the 6 - 11 year olds and we have fun whilst learning about life and faith and about being responsible. I really enjoy talking to them all and asking them to share their thoughts with everyone there. It's a sort of bonding together and we learn from each other.

Thats really good to hear Lin just what it needs, wish here were a lot more like you taking a lead in areas that are needed. for the good of future societies.
