Strange but lovely. I've never seen anything like it.

TY Poenyrose. I looked it up and it is Acalypha hispida, more commonly a houseplant since it is not at all hardy. These furry red flowers can get very long but the plants stays relatively tidy. I'm glad to be trying it out. Its a lovely color.

Beautiful is this one called cats tails common name.

TY. I do wonder how long these will get? The native photos posted of it have really long fluffs (lacking a better name....lol). If its a good houseplant with my light added of course, then it will really be exciting.

I could be called cat's tail somewhere I suppose 6p, though I am familiar with that name for a tall pond grass with a long brown fluffy flower.

GT:

Is it a variety of Acalypha pendula? I have many Acalypha wilkesiana varieties in my garden...however, never have purchased this one. I see this vine available all the time for sale at Home Depot.

Looks like pendula is more appropriate.

GT:

Thanks! : > )

Acalypha species are one my favorite tropical shrubs. Acalypha hispida - Chenille shrub is very beautiful and can grow to more than 15 feet/ 4.5 meters tall.
