Awww you should have it,s a beautful big dinner plate dahlia .... started off a very orange colour but each day it seems to change ...today it,s mostly yellow ,,,, still lovely ..... I got this tuber from Taylors. Motinot...

Lovely dahlia. The bad winter did lead to many of the dahlias in my customers' gardens dying but I've noticed the smaller bedding varieties seem to be tougher than the large ones.

Thanks Anchorman , I usual grow my bedding dahlia,s,from seed ,but I lift the big tuber,s each year ...this year was a total disaster lost all but two ....so most are new this year I know a few people had lost lots over winter ,lets hope this one is a bit milder....

I've just added a photo of one of my favourite dahlias to my photos on here. It's a simple dwarf bedding geranium but imo it's gorgeous

Janette, I love the dahlia. I've never really grown them before, but am thinking of trying some next year. You said that you lifted them, but still lost them? Was that storing them in a shed?
27 Aug, 2010
I stored them in my greenhouse Karen ,never had any problems before ,but last year I had a lot of sad thing,s happening in my life , to be truthful I just neglected them ,I should have checked them more often than I did ... my own fault I lost so many ,but I,ve had some nice suprise,s when another new one opens every cloud so they say has a silver linning .....if I had,nt lost so many I,d have missed out on this beauty ...
I love them ,there is so many different variety,s and colour,s .hope you find some that you like ,if you goggle National Dahlia Collection ,you will see just how many there are good luck ....there,s over a thousand to look at ....
