Best place for it!

Its now had all its leaves cut away, I allowed it to dry out for a couple of weeks by standing it upside down in a tall pot and now its wrapped up for the winter in a net and one of those paper sacks I'd saved from my potato's, followed Monty's instructions to the letter...

I saw him chop all its leaves off Lincs.....brutal!! We have one in the tunnel for the first time this year and are just going to wait and see!!

Have you left your leaves on Sandra, I felt terrible chopping mine down but never had one before so thought I'd better follow Monty's instructions.....

That's a great banana tree you have there, Lincs! :-))

Monty does do some"brutal" things at times to his plants, doesn't he? yet they come back successfully the following year with no apparent ill effects!

As ours is staying in the soil in the tunnel it still has its leaves Lincs...but we are concerned it will reach the top by spring...lol

all I can say is Wow! I love the colors. It takes up half of your greenhouse. If your house is warm enough, could you do orchids? As you probably know, I am very envious that so many of you have these fun houses.

Wells I have no luck whatsoever with orchids at all, I can keep them alive but never get them to produce any flowers, Amarylis are the same, they never rebloom for me, I have followed advice very carefully with no luck at all, I just end up with a basket of leaves every year...

I'm the same with orchids Lincs.... Lots of leaves no flowers... But hey I might get a new one off Santa! Our ensete leaves are not likeing the cold in the tunnel but it's still limping away. I can't decide whether to cur it back or not!

Have you still got this banana?

Keep your Amaryllis bulbs away from apples if you want to get any flowers! Apples cause them to become sterile hence the lack of flowers!

Dd I hope so, I managed to get it through last year by following Monty's instructions, it came back and did me proud all summer so have done it again, its back under the shelving in its protective cover, in a few weeks it will be time to repot and start it into growth again...

Thanks Balcony, I saw that on your last blog, explains why mine always fail, I'm going to try again with new bulbs and keep them well away from my stored apples..
