It,s very dry there Gee , it also has plastic underneath with gravel on it , the leaves haven,t opened properly yet , the slugs do get to them later on , we are trying beer traps this year :o)

I've got my hostas in pots, (not as big as yours yet) & put vasline round top of pots then the slugs & snails can't get to them as they slide of the vasline.

Your hoatas asre huge! How old are they? Mine is so tiny. This is only the second season that I've have it.

Thanks Mike ,Tracy , they are 5/6 year old Tracy , the leaves haven,t quite spread right out on that photo , when they do you can,t see a gap between them !
