No name - it was a gift years ago when it was a tiny baby.

No idea - would you say it was?
Thanks, Pp. :-)

Beautiful Spritz!

Yes I'd say so. Is the foliage a fresh green with little or no reddish hues? except in the autumn when it can redden up with frosts.

Love these plants, sadly the garden too small to take one...

Errr...I shall have to check, Sbg.

I have several of these that self seeded themselves from next door!
I transplanted them to different places in the garden when they were seedlings.
They are still very small at the moment - about a foot tall so far this year.
I am thinking I probably won't see them flower though!!!!
How many years before they are likely to have any flowers?

I was given this when it was about that size, and it took five years to flower. I hope you're patient, Shirl!

I hope I'm still around!!! Even if I have to crawl up the garden to see it on my zimmer frame!!! :))) :)))

Mine's just flowered for the first time after 3 years so you will see it!

Yayyy!!!!

Will take a close up photo tomorrow Spritz to see if its the same but mine looks pretty pathetic compared to yours and the petals aren't quite so prolific.

Oh, don't say that - it looked pretty in your photo!

Just taken a couple more photos. Its down to its last flower and has only 6 petals. The flower's only the size of a golf ball. I have just peeked over next door's garden and see their Tree Peony is in full fettle. Wait till you see this one!

I'm really pleased with mine this year - it has lots of buds appearing! I just wish it was a different colour. I know, I know - it's me having colour-coordinated borders, and not the poor tree paeony's fault! It's a beauty, really, just in the wrong place. :-(

What else?
See who else is growing Paeonia suffruticosa (Moutan).
See who else has plants in genus Paeonia.
