I've got all my fingers and toes crossed for your lovely plumeria Milky - I do hope it will bloom for you next year. I'm not that big a fan of plumeria ... tsk! tsk! ... but I do love my white one. Do you know what colour yours is going to be?

Bernieh:

Does your Plumeria obtusa 'Singapore' bloom all year
for you?

My tree is still blooming and sometimes blooms sporadically
through January, depending on the weather.

No Andy it doesn't bloom all year long ... but it is under the canopy of two very tall cadaghi gums and is not out in full sun all year. It seems to take a rest during the autumn and winter ... while the other two deciduous plumerias beside it drop all their leaves. Maybe the three of them have a pact ... no flowering until all are ready!!!

Bernieh:

I bet it would bloom all year if it was in full sun. In Hawaii the Singapore Plumeria blooms all year. Plumeria rubra blooms most of the year...however, looses 80% of its leaves during winter.

Yes unfortunately this one is at the back of the driveway garden bed while the other two rubras are at the front and they do get a little more sun. All three plumerias are now very tall, reaching up for the sun, so some of the branches are now almost touching the lower branches of the cadaghis.

This is beautiful B sorry but I have not heard of it before, I thought it was a ginger lily......could I grow it here in my new jungle area?

DD ... frangipanis are tropical plants and they would need protection from frosts and the winter cold ... I'm not sure how well they would flower over there as they need lots of heat and full sun to bloom prolifically!

Ok will do some research, see if anyone grows them in England....

That's gorgeous Bernieh!
