Just a quick blog, inspired by Stickitoffee.
My apologies to Sir Cliff Richard: the words are to be sung to the song ‘Mistleto and Wine’.
Hopefully, everyones Christmas will be fab, whatever the weather.
A big thank you to everyone on the GOY website, especially those who have commented on my various posts since I joined. I am looking forward to a super 2011, just like you all are, I am sure.
Christmas time, Paracetamol and wine,
Children arguing “get off that’s mine!”.
The turkeys on fire, the veggies boiled dry,
Yet another Christmas that makes me start to cry!
Christmas time, the guests’ come to dine
They don’t like the food , then whinge and whine.
I’ m left with the pots and uneaten food,
I,m screaming inside; I could say something rude!
Christmas time, mince pies and wine,
Sitting alone, having a nice quiet time.
Recovering slowly, waiting for Boxing Day,
When unwelcome relatives are coming to stay.
Christmas time, Ibuprofen and wine,
Glad it’s all over and the house is all mine.
It will take me all year to get over this,
I think that next year, I will give it a miss!
Have a great festive holiday and HAPPY CHRISTMAS!

Thanks for all the lovely comments. It went well: lots of great company, turkey, duck and pork really tasty, veggies nice and undercooked (not really: just crunchy like they should be), lots of choccy to last most of the year and the best present I have recieved for 8 years ( the twins were born 8 years ago today): a Moroccan trilobite! Its fab!!

Great Christmas rhyme GD, I'm sure Sir Cliff would have a good laugh at it too! I hope it doesn't turn out that way for you. I'm not doing any cooking but I do hope I won't be a whinging guest either. I love it when it's all over .....peace and quiet and no pressure :o)
Hope it's a good one for you!
