Hi all thank you all for reading up on my blog and welcoming me on GOY. I’m having the fencing removed on wednesday all ready for the gardener to start work next week which I’m looking forward to, thats if we dont get snow as its gone bitterly cold again…
I potted flowers in the front which looks pretty but not only had I potted them the neighborhood cats seems to have taking it upon themselves to use it as their litter trays which I was not at all happy about so I made Nico ground some black pepper corns and I placed it in the new soil and around the pots etc not only that, I sprinkled chillie peppers on my gravel as well and also placed orange peel around so fingers crossed the cats will have to find somewhere else for their toilets LOL…….
Lets just hope we miss the snow this time

I used moth balls to keep the cats off my garden. The people who used to live across the road had 15 of the little darlings who all seemed to like my garden and my next door neighbours garden. The moth balls worked in my case, with the added bonus of giving the garden an unusual smell that turned peoples heads as they passed by!! lol

I have never known a cat to toilet on a lawn...dogs yes...and they usually destroy the lawn in the process! But good luck with your garden, I`m a believer that cats can only make a garden more attractive with their presence...but I do agree this maybe not everyone`s thoughts!

well I agree that cats being independant creaures are a problem as one can train a dog to mess in the right places if they are responsible owners but cats have and always will be independant as they in my view are there only for their own purposes ie we humans get used by them lol......
I like animals but when one does their fouling on my garden then I will find ways of stopping that by natural means and not via cruelty

My mums' ginger (female) cat always deposits on the lawn, it's awful,, cat scrapes out grass every time. Neighbour has 3 cats, they all use their owners' garden, never mums. Strange feline traits !

Cats always used to dig holes for their needs in the old days, now they don't seem to bother, just leave it on the surfice & I always seem to find it too late. I have woodchip paths which seem to be the favourite.
