Visit to RHS Wisley

Now the M25, A3 Junction 10 roadworks have settled with a new access road into RHS Wisley, decided to return and hopefully not finish up in Central London by mistake.

It was glorious hot & sunny day, I hired [free] an electric buggy due to my walking problems. I would advise this for anyone with similar difficulties, you do need to book them in advance.

First stop, after coffee, was the wisteria tunnel, in full bloom and a joy to see.

Going via woodland to Battlestone Hill

Passing these on the way

On the Hill followed trail in & around the rhododendrons, these were some highlights spotted

There is a large, sheltered hollow containing Tree Ferns & stumpery. The ferns were only just emerging at the time, no doubt by summer it will be quite atmospheric there.

Time for lunch, having experienced the food queues on previous visits we took our own Meal Deal bought on the way
Spotted plenty of alliums, full of bees, in the sun

After lunch was the large Glasshouse, with this in front

Time to leave, passing these geese & goslings on the way out via the lakeside walk

Finally, this Wedding Cake tree stood out and drew a lot of admirers

Lovely photos ... we used to visit RHS Wisley for Spring and Autumn Plant Fairs but have not been for a few years now. Has much changed?
