Hampton Court Highlights

It was a very enjoyable day, despite the heavy rain. I loved some of the show gardens although I found the conceptual gardens a bit hard to understand.
The flower marquee and the Plant Heritage marquee were my favourite parts.
I was hunting for plants that would do well in my shade garden, and came away with some nice ferns, and a couple of tiarella’s I hadn’t seen before, also Bowden Hosta’s were extremely helpful with choosing a couple of hostas that the slugs aren’t so particular on.
Here are just some of the highlights

It was a lot different to previous ones Louise, I think the loss of the Daily Mail house was sad, it was such a beautiful centrepiece to the whole show, and I didn't see quite so many water gardens as there used to be :(( But the Rose Marquee was fabulous. Had to keep a hold of myself with the buying too LOL

Great photos. The show gardens look up to the usual standard. What was the main marquee like this year?

Lovely photos - you may have seen Arlene without knowing! I wonder who else was there. Did you buy any plants??

LOL could well have done Spritzhenry. I was looking specifically for plants to go in a shady area, so came away with ferns, hostas, and a couple of tiarellas, although the roses were very hard to resist. I fell in love with the Leah Tutu rose :)))))))

Nice photos. I liked the second one a lot. It looked like a seaside garden.

Lovely pics Grindle......I know you were looking for shady garden plants...but....did you give in and buy a rose?

Nope :D But I think I'm going to order Leah Tutu and Summer Song bareroot if I can get them. The more I see the pictures, the more I want them
