Colorado - Flower Stroll - Part 1

All through the spring, summer and fall there were flowers blooming. It was hard for many people to notice them though. In fact the man we first stayed with had 5 acres that I would walk daily looking at what was blooming.
His standard statement was he didn’t know why I was wasting my time “nothing grows here in Colorado…it is a desert!” He said this emphatically on a daily basis and was always surprised at what I brought back home in the form of pictures!
Flatspine Stickseed-Lappula occidentalis
Golden Smoke-Corydalis aurea
Giant Indian Paintbrush – Casstilleja miniata
Wild Blue Flax – Linum perenne lewisii
Western Salisfy – Tragopogon dubius
New Mexico Yucca – Yucca harrimaniae
Rocky Mountain Beeplant – Cleome serrulata
New Mexico Beardtongue – Penstemone thurberi
Black Eyed Susan – Rudbeckia hirta

Amazing that some people don't see what's in front of them! Great that you do, Hw. Thanks for the lovely photos. :-)

Stunning!!
The beardtongue looks similar to Freesia, and the Western Salisfy looks
remotely like one of the Scabious family.
The Bee plant is lovely, and blue Flax is so pretty.
Love all of these for my Wildlife Border..........You have just made my day
a lot happier!!!
