Had a heavy shower of rain last evening first for a long time…very nice for the birds and the garden……i had to laugh as the pigeon on the fence was so pleased to see the rain he lifted up one wing to let some rain on it then the other wing… he looked like he was having a shower in the rain…. grabbed the camera and took a pic…
its been a great summer for the insects ive never seen so many ladybirds… Bees….and the garden is full of Hoverflies never ever seen so many…..and loads of Butterflies especially the Gatekeeper Butterflies theres loads about they seem to like my grasses.. they are always on them…..

What a lovely photo Holly, I can just imagine him thinking, "Bliss, a shower at last, no more need to roll around in the dust"!

Just seen this evening - someone's been running the hosepipe in our communal gardens, and it always leaks at the tap end - I walked by just now to find several bees sitting on the wet, knobbly concrete, looked like they were having a drink... Do they drink?
