February

I was looking through some paper work when i found this poem i wrote last year… thought you might like to see it, even though feb is nearly over….lol

February can be fair of face
As it casts the sun on the garden place
Its warmth just a little to lift your soul
But still it can be so cold.

The north wind blows
And brings the snow
Our gardens turning white
And starry skies so very bright
Brings the frost as it turns light.

The birds start to twitter
No not on the net
But in the gardens around
And if you take a gentle stroll
You might even have found.

Some hellebores, so beautiful
And tiny snowdrops hiding
And bulbs a peeping through
Waiting for Spring
Just like you.

Yes february can be fair of face
Or cold as cold as stone
But one things for sure
It doesnt stand alone.

Its standing next to March
To welcome in the Spring
And as we say goodbye to it
We welcome March and all the joy it brings.

Holly……..

Grey skies here today and a bit on the cool side...on the other hand there are lots of birds flitting about in and out of the large hawthorn tree at the rear of our garden and lots of morning singing to awaken the dawn :)

Spring has got to be around the corner....and your poem, Holly, says it all. A joy to read.
