THE VILLAGE POND............

Our village has a lovely pond…….with lots of wildlife……i took a walk up there last week………
It had dried up quite a lot as we havnt had much rain lately………you can see the roots on the trees which are normally under the water………
There were a couple of ducks sitting there…….one of which was hissing at me…. it wasnt till i saw what was underneath that i realised why she was hissing….
The baby gradually came out and they waddled off for a swim…………
Heres Daddy duck, is that a baby i can see underneath him……. what do you think……..

Lovely photo's Holly,
Not sure about daddy duck, my eye's aren't what they once were but if he's anything like Daffy Duck then it's prob. a cheese burger he's trying to hide from Mrs. Duck.
Sorry, I think its the heat its got to my brain......LOL

Lovely blog, Holly. So glad you had your camera with you.

Lovely blog Holly. Shame about the pond drying up. We have had a fair amount of rain in Essex, but everywhere is , like where you are, very dry everywhere! I think it's the strong wind and hot sun!

Windy, yes, Jacque. I think it's bveen windy all spring summer and last winter here. I t very seldom seems to drop. I'm sure it's much windier now than it used to be years ago. Our garden wall was blown down in Jan 2007 so we had it fixed but instead of fence on top as before, we put trellis but a few weeks ago one of the piers was broken again by the wind. It's extremely strong on our corner where we live!

Enjoyed your blog and photos, Holly. We have ducks on our village pond (doesn't seem as big as yours) and lots of the ducklings don't survive. It's very sad.
