Building a garden

I’m supposed to be gardening – well picking up builders rubble, so I can cut the grass in what can loosely be termed the orchard – it does have eating apples, cookers, damsons and plums in it! However, I am not feeling inspired to do anything today, so am hoping if enough distractions can be found, then it might start raining. Then I can mow the fastest growing weeds in the universe, which make up the veg garden path! I’ve found if I keep mowing the weeds on a really short cut, it looks quite trim in the half light of a late summer evening.
I am including the sequence of the before and during shots of the terrace, so you can see them all together – partly to convince myself that things are coming on! Here we go……………………..
Sooooooooooooooo, yes it has come on, but it has taken 18 months to get this far. The trouble is, Mick has a 50 hour a week job AND farms AND tries to keep up with the improvements here!
Anyway he has 2 weeks off soon, so we are going to do as much as we can together to crack on. We are supposed to be having a little do for my 50th on it week after next, haven’t told the guests yet that it might be a bring a trowel do, rather than a bring a bottle!!!!!!!!!!!
Ummmmmmmmmmmmm, not raining yet, so had better go and make myself useful outside.

If you keep mowing the weeds you'll find the grass will take over from them and you'll have a grass path. What a lot of work going on!
