Best Friends

Hello there – I love to be out in the garden – and enjoy nurturing my plants – growing seeds – taking cuttings and of course the visit to the garden centre to see what is new and now I will move on to my gardening tale.
Best friends -my Himalayan Blue Poppy – alias Meconopsis grandis (I think) has found new friends.
I love the intense blue of these elegant poppies, and have strived for many years to get one to bloom – so I have tried to grow one in a pot – the pic below is from last year its second year
Now I have read in gardening books that the poppy is shortlived so I wasn’t expecting it to reappear again this year , and guess what don’t ask me how it happened but it is sharing the pot with a Japonica and Redcurrant plant
The geranium plant is in the border to the rear of the pot and there are a few other bits in the pot to be removed methinks – ie a tansy plant for one thing – forever popping up in unexpected places

Jane Nice poppy the one you show looks very much Like the Variety Lingholm these are more perennial than a lot which die after flowering. Also easy from seed if Lingholm is the Variety, label appears still in the pot.

Blue poppies are relatively easy here in the cold North. But I still get a thrill every time I see one! Well done Jane, worth the wait! :)
