It was very pleasant yesterday, warm sunshine and time to catch up outside.
After lunch, it was a spot of weeding, watering and pruning..and planting.
It’s raining a little now at noon, but, yesterday, everything was parched. I feel partly responsible! I don’t think we’ve watered enough recently and we’ve hardly had a drop of rain to speak of.
I pottered out front too. I must prune the very large Juniper that hangs over the pond, but, that’ll be next week I guess.
Ivy hedges pruned, laurel tree and a few others. The laurel was pruned, or taken down a few feet, the other week.
We removed a well munched dahlia and helenium. OH planted a verbena which is still in bloom and a sedum seduction yellow delicat. This morning, no nibbles. Keeping fingers crossed. This area has had several plants over a few years and all have been munched to bits!
We also planted two sedum rose carpet plants on the rockery.
By early evening I watered everything thoroughly, we left the sprinkler on the grass for a good while. We have a small grassed area out front, we removed the main lawn some time ago. I watered it for quite a while, the large hedging seems to suck the water from everything!
Next week looks good, weather wise. Happy gardening everyone for the week ahead. Look forward to seeing all your new pics!

Sedum Yellow Delicat

My one Salvia

Skimmia

My only Rose still flowering. It’s rambling up through some Rosemary onto the bund.

My potted Dahlias in the back and front still giving me colour.

Lucky capture!

Scented Nemesia

Verbena planted yesterday.

One of 2 Sedum Rose Carpet plants

Little annual can’t remember the name. It started reflowering in the pot and on the rockery.

One of many annual geraniums.

Another geranium

I like the selection of your plants Kate. Still gives you plenty of colour in September.

Fall (Autumn) seems to be a busy season for gardeners as old plants are trimmed and bulbs and new plants go in.

Love your picture of the bee.

Lots of lovely blooms! I particularly love your Sedum 'Rose Carpet', Salvia and Dahlia. Great shot of the bee!

You still have plenty of colour Kate. I have the same Salvia and was given two cuttings from Janey when I visited her a while ago. One has just started to flower.

I’ve got one of those little blue flowered plants in flower & I can’t remember the name either :-). I’ve got to an age now when I think , Does it really matter? Just look & be pleased with it.
