A few flowery things

Spring colour in my back garden and also a garden on a visit last week.
My Thyme on the rockery.
Bee on Aquilegia.
Bee on perennial Geranium.
My chopped Ceanothus has bloomed this month.
Spotted this tiny butterfly or probably a moth in our back garden after work.
Our new Clematis "early sensation ", we have another winding through the big laurel.
Last few pics are from a garden when I was on a visit last week.

I have a Ceonothus , a different type to yours which needs chopping back a bit but a bit nervous about doing this. I think I remember reading that some types don't like to be chopped.

Beautiful spring like colours from your garden with a blast of colour from that gorgeous peony! I do love springtime as our garden is definitely at its best.

Thank you, Sheila! I took a few pics, but they were all out of focus. This one is the best of the bunch ☺️

Rose, I think you should be ok, probably after flowering. They are fairly strong plants. Ours was quite big and last year some of the base looked dead with all the flowers and growth on top. Apparently they last about 15 years?
So, we thought chop it last autumn down to the trunk.. then not long after, new shoots appeared. It’s springing back now!

Thank you, Chris! It’s really turning now isn’t it, we’re seeing lots of prolific growth and pops of colour. The peony is one of two, in the garden of an elderly chap I see, he lives in a pretty village. He gave me some rhubarb from his garden that day, and some cupcakes one of his daughters had baked. Good day all round ☺️

lovely Katie,
i think the moth is one of the mint moths. I have asked Toria to id it for me [and you of course].
