Christmas in June

How nice to come home from work to find two big boxes of plants by my front door! I needed “just a few more” – you have probably all used that excuse – to fill in some barren spots and so I placed a couple of plant orders. Since I prefer to primarily grow natives, I generally mostly buy from mail-order nurseries, but even the larger chains are beginning to carry southeastern natives or cultivars. I did buy some European aconite since I couldn’t find the local species, but I know it’ll be just as pretty.
I couldn’t wait to tear these open…..
Perfectly packed, not a leaf out of place
Aconite
My stash, which includes Eupatorium rugosum, Aster divaricatus, Goodyera pubescens, Uvularia grandiflora, Conoclinum coelestinum, and Aconitum something-or-other
Goodyera pubescens, a native orchid I can actually afford

Dylandog, if you have time have a quick look at a blog i wrote a while ago about the online nurseries i use regularly, they're worth checking out.

I like plant deliveries, but I am not allowed to get any more plants at the moment. I can get more when the other half has finished the patio and built the flowerbeds - but he is taking forever to do them I wonder why!
But when i do I will be sure to get them ordered from the same place as they look really healthy. ;-)
