hi everybody, today i am not going to moan. i have been waiting three years for some of my irises to flower and now i have been rewarded for my patience. first to flower was tuscan beautiful burgundy falls with lighter standards, next was wabash, purple lined white falls and creamy white standards, this one did flower last year, then a purple one yet to be identified, then aone similar to wabash but with soft yellow standards and then yesterday came sultans palace, it looked black in bud but unfurled to a rich chesnut brown with an orange beard. i cannot stop looking at it and photographing it, also the top three buds opened on the same day it is spectacular. three years ago, to go with the irises i sowed a packet of oriental poppies to bloom at the same time and they have been flowering for three years but each year i get new clours popping up, so far this year i have got pillar box red, orangey red and a pale pink. they are gorgeous.
