1969 it was the same,

The reason I remember it snowing all those years back is because it was my daughters birthday yesterday and it was snowing at the time, it was a very bad winter and was still snowing in the Feb when my niece was born.
Is this a sign one thinks ????

I wonder how far afield it is? We have a light covering here. Henry stayed out in it for ages - he was amazed! This is only the second time in his life that he's seen it. He didn't play - he just sniffed at it.

Brynner`s first reaction was to eat it Spritz.....

north worcestershire has a covering ~ i know it came down after 3.30 cos i let the cat out and there was no snow then.

Cold winters are always caused by stubborn high pressure systems - maybe we will have another blocking high to the north as in 63 - and of course last winter

It hardly ever snows at Christmas

Karen sue was born in 1963, (sorry Karen) but I remember that winter very well, it was ice and ice and ice and ice and snow and snow and snow and snow for months and months and months and having a big bump didn't help me in getting out and about in it, we didn't have a car and walked everywhere. Well slid everywhere, for days I was shut in with no possibility of getting out and about, even after she was born in the March we were fastened in because it stayed around right into the Spring time. Much harder winter then than last years was. 1967 was also a hard one in the spring my son was born then and there was snow whilst we were in the maternity home that was March also.

Think last year probably was hard in some places but not too bad here, wonder if we will get a white Christmas this year.

Lovely sunshine here,so the little we had ,has almost gone, but think we are in for a lot!I remember the 1969 one too,as I had to get home from Liverpool to Cumbria,as my dad was ill..where I stayed till spring..what a winter, that was...1979 was awful here in Yorkshire too.my daughter was born in the February, and I was panicking,as the Ambulances were on strike as well..but she decide to be born a week early, and it started snowing the day after....we didn't get to go out till almost the end of March......

I was at college in 1963, and all the heating went off frequently, we had cold food, and nobody could go home because of the travelling. We sat on our beds all huddled up in quilts. We came through it OK, though!

Lovely Brynner enjoying the snow... :o)
... has Morgan never liked the snow ?

We got a white Christams in the Midlands last year - but only some parts - it was fairy tale stuff - it snowed at midnight for half and hour and left a dusting.

We got a dusting of snow here as well overnight. On TV they say it's the earliest snow in 17 years!

We went to my wife's home town in the centre of Spain last year & saw more rain in the fortnight we were there than we had seen all year here in the UK! We escaped some of the snow & ice but got a lot of rain instead!

The day we returned home we had no problems with transport but the very next day was when we had the 2nd cold spell. We were so lucky to get home before the snow & ice made the airports & roads close once again!
