No wind today....

I got up this morning to sunshine and peace in the garden. “Yippee” the wind had dropped at last, thank goodness… A cuppa, quick tidy up ,only a lick and a promise actually, I`m gonna get my front hedge cut come hell or high water. Now my own green waste bin was nearly full, so I had a quick peep into my neighbours bin, hers was nearly empty, they were all outside near the gates so that was easy, I was going to be cheeky and ask if I could put some trimmings into hers when lo and behold the collection lorry turned into our road, (sigh of relief,) I trotted back indoors to get my sheets and trimmer, by the time I`d plugged in and put my sheets down the lad was returning my empty bin grinning at me because he knew it was going to be full again in a very short time ,lol. Half an hour later, the bin is nearly full yet again and I have a very neat and tidy front hedge. Much too nice to go back indoors so I emptied a couple of my planters and refilled with spring bulbs, ivy and pansies I`ve been growing in my greenhouses, my plum toms had finished so I`ve also uprooted them, cherry toms and alicante are still growing strong so they`ll stay for a while yet.. Hubby rang to say he was on the way home so just had time for a coffee before preparing dinner. No time for dusting though, I headed back outside to tidy up my raised bed whilst the sun was still shining. I have however made a cake tonight so I guess I have redeemed my lack of housework today, lol. Recipe compliments of Bloomer, smells delicious, can`t wait to taste….

Housework can be done any time and in any weather - gardening can't (that's my excuse anyway) lol
Cake looks divine:>)

I think we would all ditch the housework for a good day in the garden..we have had two in a row so, like you Lincslass, we made the most of it! I had a quick couple or sorties on the computer with tea breaks, then off out again for some more sunshine, so was with you in spirit!
Didnt we all do well?

Good timing with the collection lorry - shame he couldn't have come back a bit later for the hedge trimmings.
Cake looks yummy. Theres no need for redeeming yourself for no housework. You did housework, it was just less house :) Who wants to be doing housework when you can be out in the sun. Gardening is much more fun than housework anyway.
I'm with you completely (and will have to remember this comment) anyone who doesn't like it can pick up a duster.

Gee whizz!! after reading about all the work you did today I feel quite worn out... think I need a cuppa and a rest, but not just yet. I have to read a few more blogs. Soooooo entertaining. Couldn't agree more with all the comments on housework, ugh!!! ...

It's so satisfying to have lots of gardening jobs done and dusted (pun intended!) ... anyway a layer of dust protects the wood ... lol! ... Cake looks tasty . . . . .

Well done Lincs pleased you got so much done gardening is the best exercise you can have and who wants to know about boring housework, grab every minute you can outdoors, wish the weather here would allow me to get out there more, the lawns waterlogged with all the rain and my flower sodden and more rain forecast;0(
