Autumn in my garden, come take a walk...

Thank you for the tour, Sue. You have a lot of gorgeous colour in your garden - most of my colour has now gone.
The pond area is looking great and full of interest, it doesn’t always need colour to look so good!
My sedum is getting ready to fully bloom, yours is a lovely pink. Love the Japanese anemone too - lots of pretty flowers. Your beds are still filled with abundant flower!

Gorgeous delphiniums! You have lots of interesting places to take people by surprise! I love the acer collection too - do you have to move them into shelter for winter? Its too windy for them here so I have to just enjoy other peoples!

Thankyou Kate, I agree as regards the pond, as you can see the colour and textures of the leaves provide the colour and interest. The sedum started out as one small piece and now I have it everywhere, I have tried many times over the years to get a dark leafed one without success, just refuses to grow no matter which area I try...

Hello Sue, I'm a bit concerned about where to put my Acers for this winter, the old conifers used to give them some protection from the wind, I'm hoping the spreading Juniper and the remaining conifer will still be enough to act as a barrier, only time will tell, the Delphiniums have been doing me proud for many years now, I did add a white one this year but its just gone over...

Thanks Eileen, the border worked out a treat, I've been scattering seedheads all along it so hoping it will be just as colourful next springtime, I have a strip nearer to the yard, where I placed my Abelia and a Hebe, its a right pain when I'm cutting the grass so I'm now thinking of removing said grass and planting this end up as well..

Thankyou Anget, the beds and borders are a lot easier to cope with since I added all the perennials, in fact it was the best decision I ever made and I like the cottage effect.. I don't think there is a secret to my Acers apart from keeping them away from the wind and also too much sunshine, especially the dark leaved ones, they don't take kindly to sunburn, dappled shade is ideal, I only ever tried growing one in my garden and it died within two years after being happy in its pot for five years, never again, they are too expensive to replace....

Julia its really weird, there are hundreds of snails amongst my edging stones that surround the bed but not many slugs, I've never lost my plants in that section, however they stripped my petunias from around the border in just one night, I think my frog family sort them out for me.

Hello Klahanie, I love autumn both in my garden and the surrounding countryside, hoping it doesn't pass by too quickly, I'd like to hang onto all the colours, I bet its lovely where you live ..

Just a thought - could you make a windbreak using fleece and some uprights (like those you see on the beach)?

Stera if neccessary that is what I will do, I don't have fleece but I have the green netting that is used in the g'house during the height of summer for shading, I think that will be just as good, can make tents can't I, your mind works along the same lines as mine, thankyou for the suggestion, much appreciated..x

Hiya Hywel, pleased you enjoyed a wander, I like my hidden areas, people have to take a walk to see them.
Now I'm trying to figure out where to hide my barrow, roller and spare bins, we need such things but I dislike them showing, hubby doesn't know it yet but think I'm going to ask him to build me a new cubby, that will please him as he won't see why I'd want one, lol....

We gardeners know exactly what we want don't we Sue lol :D

I certainly enjoyed the wander, always lovely to see someone else’s garden. I particularly like the first picture, very colourful.

Amsterdam , that one is my new border, its really done me proud, although they cannot be seen at the moment I also have some shrubs growing there, I need more bulbs to plant between them, I scattered Nigella, Aquilegia and Poppies so hopefully come next spring it will look just as good..
