A Chamomile Rustic Bench

My husband Barry is onto his latest garden project…..a rustic bench. My idea was to grow Dwarf Chamomile at the back so that when you sit down you release the fragrance.
Treneague is also a possibility…….has anyone grown Chamomile?
I have included Barry’s new steps and path to the green house. He is very handy!!!!!!

Yes, I agree with sticki. Your greenhouse is really well placed, out of the way. I love the new steps and pathway. Sorry Linda, I've never grown chamomile as I can't bear the whiff of it!

Ive never grown it either, but it sounds a great idea..as long as you dont ask Karen to sit there lol! Lovely greenhouse, which I could hide mine like that!

I don't know what Chamomile actually smells like Karen. Hope we don't have to ban people from sitting on our new rustic seat once it is finished. I might have to protect it in the winter.
The green house is part of my small woodland garden
which luckily gets the sun for most of the day. I love popping in and out checking on my seedlings.
Thanks Sticki and Tetrarch.

I am so envious of your greenhouse it looks idyllic and the steps look so in keeping.

I love the smell of chamomile and from one packet of seeds I have masses of it, growing between paving stones on the path, growing in the herb garden and I am trying to make a circular chamomile lawn. It will be wonderful on your garden seat.

Hi there, I grow thousands of chamomile plants from cuttings that I leave in water until they show roots. I plant it in the lawn and around my pond. In fact I have so much of it now, they do need homes! I would like to make some kind of chamomile bench too. It works best flat like a cushion I think. If it's planted on the vertical it's difficult to keep it moist. But seeing how you have places the stones maybe you could push a well rooted piece of chamomile and make sure it's watered until it's established.
I see you live up north, a bit far from me. Cuttings with good roots could be sent in the post if you would like some.

Thanks Lulu for your offer. Barry has continued building the seat today. The cement needs to go in so I have to decide where the Chamomile is to be placed.... it will need earth only spaces. If I had thought about this earlier Ginellie I could have planted seeds.
Good luck with the arch Sandra....I waited 33 years to have the steps fixed....they were a bit dodgy up until now!!!! Enjoy your trip to Spain!!!!
We put some yogurt on the back of the new steps last night to see if we could age them a bit. They will be even more in keeping once they green up a bit Valadel.
I don't want to start a smell test here Karen.....I hope I like it more than you.

Love the path to the greenhouse very natural looking and that Chamomile bench sounds great Linda, its supposed to be very relaxing as is Chamomile tea.

The bench is just drying out and I have the Chamomile ready to plant. I think the bench should be even more relaxing than the tea Stroller!!!!
I will photograph it at the weekend.

I thought your website looked very professional Lulu.
Mine was designed by a friend of my son. I would like my son to update it for me as he is a graphic designer, but he says that is not the done thing!!
