At the veg plot.

I planted 70 cabbages. I also moved the Kale as the pigeons were eating them. We are harvesting the broad beans and the Fennel is looking great.

What an abundance of fresh, healthy, home grown produce, Linda. I have to say, I do like fennel. All looking great!

Love your veggie garden, wish I had room to grow like that, I only have room for a few runner beans and carrots, which I couldn’t do without.

You've gone ot a lot of trouble with all tht protective netting! Its so annoying when yur lovely tender leaves get munched. Happily we don't have pigeons but next door's free range chickens sometimes wander in for a chomp - though it was slugs at first, but caught one in the act. Did you make the tunnels or are they bought ones please?

That's a very well organised plot, the vegetables all look healthy and must have a lovely taste :)

I admire anyone who goes to all that trouble to protect and cultivate veg. We have so many pigeons it would be fatal to even attempt it!

It isn't just the pigeons, we caught a squirrel in with the cabbages. The Fennel has suddenly outgrown the netting, Stera but we will be harvesting it soon.
We have had lots of broad beans but the runners seem a bit late.
The Kale has been attracting something too but our new wire netting should work.
We will dig up the potatoes this week.
The garlic was a great crop this year. I bought an unusual bulb to plant when I was in The Isle of Wight which was reddish purple. They have a large garlic farm there with restaurant and shop.

I too am a Fennel fan. I didn’t think it was possible to grow Florence Fennel in Scotland...yet again, proved wrong! Maybe not here though with our windy spot. But I do grow the seed Fennel, which I love. The seeds are so fresh when home-grown.
