Penstemon

I seem to hear that penstemons are not very long lived. I have had this one ~ whose name I cannot remember ~ for many years, have taken lots of cuttings, and given it little TLC and a trim each spring, and it never fails.
I also have this colourful patch, is it a crocus? I have divided and spread them in several parts of the garden, they give some nice late colour, having had rich green leaves earlier in the year.

The colour and inside of yours looks very like my Penstemon Hewells Pink. I do not know if they are short lived, mine have gone on for some years so far.

Both look really lovely. I think you are so lucky to have autumn crocus in your garden.

You have naked ladies there lizzie....autumn crocus, Colchicum.
Called so because the leaves die down in the spring and the flowers come alone in the autumn
