What a fantastic morning surprise!!

No! Not this choccy farmyard……..

Dear David, he drove away, allegedley to buy the Racing Post!! Was gone quite a while he was. Upon returning he pops into the kitchen with two boxes of choccys. Oh dear, PLEEESE don’t buy me chocs (not a huge favourite and fattening!) But thank you darling xx And out he goes….
And in he comes again….with a box of….

These!! Put to use planting what he brought in next…

Veronica Gentianoides, a dear favourite.
Phlox Stolenifera, Syringa Prestoniae Elinor and Eleagnus Pungens Dicksonii……!!!

Veronica, just love it, so pretty and dainty.

And also this Phlox, haven’t seen this one before. I have planted it with lots of rich compost next to an Osmanthus shrub I planted last week. Hope it will spread out well!

the two shrubs I am having to think about where to plant.
What a really happy surprise!
Hope you all are having a good Easter Sunday too! x

How lovely Lulu. You will enjoy all of those pressies, except the choccies, cos you may feel guilty eating them, but forget the diet for today. Thanks for the good wishes, am having a quiet day today after a busy two days away from home.

Obviously a much loved lady, what great surprises. The phlox is very pretty and I`m sure it won`t take long on finding a good spot for the two shrubs.

What a clever hubby, to make such lovely choices. We're just having a seedling-pricking-out day in the sunshine, and plan to have supper in the garden soon. (I have just been offered a Pimm's!)

Happy Easter to you, Lulu!

Very thoughtful Gee19 better than choccy's.
And dammit Sheila....still can't find my knife!!

25 Apr, 2011

Sheila? Sheila? lol! 'Twas Shirley who said to beware of the knife! Cast your mind back to what you were using it for last . . . ..

25 Apr, 2011

OOps so sorry! And that was before the cocktail I drank Shirley!!
I cast my mind back and looked and looked (my loppers have mysteriously disappeared too) I am wondering if Sluggypup went off with the knife and dropped it elsewhere! She was bouncing on me as I was trying to weed....maybe. Hope it turns up soon! Will go through the burning pile, again! in case it was in the weed pile....

FOUND THEM Yay! Knife was in the burning pile and loppers stuck in my wellies out of the way! phew, loppers expensive and knife my trusty friend!

26 Apr, 2011

Phew ... so pleased you found them ... when we took on an allotment some years ago and went through the compost heap we found many bread knives and knitting needles! Apparently the previous plotholder was losing his sight and brought a knife with him each time to cut a cabbage as he could never find the other one! Doesn't explain the knitting needles though! : o ))
