Thank you so much Lulu . . . what a remarkable, thought-provoking film, and so beautiful! Love it, and I will count my blessings even more. :))

7 Jan, 2012

Should there have been sound with it? I thought I could very faintly hear the little girl sitting at the table but nothing else. But the photography was amazing - spellbinding in fact. Thanks Lulu!

7 Jan, 2012

yes there is dialogue, there is a sound button just under the picture usually and another on the computer

7 Jan, 2012

Oh my goodness, I was wondering if anyone would even take a look....so happy you enjoyed.
I recently connected with a storyteller and she posted the film to my facebook, so I thought I would share it you!

7 Jan, 2012

a story teller?? are you going to tell stories too??

thank you again for showing this.

7 Jan, 2012

Story Tellers just make it up!

7 Jan, 2012

Oh I love a good story telling, it's the smashing of a positive archetype straight into the sub conscience mind that does it for me!!
I did tell an American Indian story one night in front of a crowd............eeks!

7 Jan, 2012

It *really* is. Thank you.

7 Jan, 2012

8 Jan, 2012

Yes really !! Quite moved.

8 Jan, 2012

Much better than fearing an apocalypse!

8 Jan, 2012

Totally! lol

8 Jan, 2012

Not a word about war or destruction! Why we dont use our energies in helping others see what the world has to offer - why is it that we never get stories about the feel good factor? Too boring? NOT A BIT!
This is a truly amazing film, and to me, the raindrop says it all!
Thank you Lulu!

11 Jan, 2012

apocalypse Lulu? nonsense ; )
I dont fear an apocalypse, but if there is going to be one its probably going to be man made and so better to be prepared. If you have eyes to see the beauty you should also be able to see the reality of whats happening. Real beauty is not naivety.

11 Jan, 2012

I love it too :))) Thank you Lulu33!

11 Jan, 2012

Well, I fear an apocalypse and probably for some wrong reasons too!
It's strange when I walk around this beautiful country and think that it's mainly it's wildness, our gardens and the birds who have any semblance of innocence..
I find it strange that the governance of this world with all it's billions of people, still, haven't got it right.

11 Jan, 2012

Too many people want too many things..the old adage is very true -
You can please some of the people some of the time and all of the people some of the time, but never all of the people all of the time..or something like that!
And the original and best definition of naive was innocence and lack of sophistication, unlike today when it tends to get used in a derogatory manner as if someone naive tends to be inept. So on my definition I reckon naivety helps you to see real beauty. Sorry Stevie, not trying to be argumentative..just a different point of view.

11 Jan, 2012

hehe lets have a healthy debate : )
LuLu I am not sure if in 2012 there will be an apocalypse or some revelations or nothing!! In a way if there's nothing it will be a good thing in that it will shut alot of people up about doomsday nonsense. However I do think its a good focus on whats wrong today and whats being done to us and in our name to which we do not consent.

Tetrarch, respectfully I would have to disagree with you. I feel that fundamentally people dont want too many things, or, if they do its because they have not the basic things or access to that which their inalienable rights entitle us. I think fundamentally people want access to justice (real not bogus), fairness, a worthwhile job or endeavour, a real means of exchange for needs (money (not false currency or credit)), the right to earn, keep or spend it on whatever 'they' decide, the right to live your life the way 'you' want to without the government or state sticking its nose into everything and representation by consent with minimum taxation.
Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness (whatever that is??)

On naivety re nature, I personally dont think you can have a relationship with nature without acknowledging the harm we cause it with our waste and ignorance. I didn't mean any 'inept' connotation here but I think there is a justifiable one in other areas, for example, the jobcentre/DWP is extremely naive in that it ignores fundamental issues re employment and is hence not fit for purpose, but then again thats deliberate so thats more by design and blinkeredness.

On the 'TED' website it says its about 'Ideas Worth Spreading' and is independent so you or Lulu could organise one here ...I'd come : )

11 Jan, 2012

thats not meant to be a rant btw

11 Jan, 2012

Blimey! you have all had quite a morning and i thought i worked hard!!
interesting debate, i shall keep watching.

11 Jan, 2012

take part!!! or on the other hand put your feet up ; )

11 Jan, 2012

im trying hard to think of something clever. been up since 5, give me a chance, and a cup of coffee.

11 Jan, 2012

For lack of any coherent, positive or useful thought on the world, it's change for the better or thoughts about apocalypse('S) My thoughts are nuclear (that is meant to be read unclear!!) I have enough trouble trying to find a positive and useful path for myself and overcoming this damned kidney infection which tags along in the tides of these stones. I feel rather ineffectual (and maybe a bit sorry for myself and bored)
So..
......
What if the world changed
And oranges became pink!
If pigs could fly and trees grew in the sky.
What would it's people think?
If angels sang in skies above
And large was the size of a pea.
If all we knew began to change,
Where would the people be?

What if the world changed, wouldn't it be great,
No more could we say 'impossible'.
It never is too late.

If dogs could talk and peanuts walked
If rainbows shopped in grocery stores.
If nails became hooks and monkeys wrote books
Where would we be with all our laws?

And if the world really did change
(and it isn't that improbable)
If some things were re arranged, we all would be unstoppable.
If the world changed, wouldn't it be great!
No more could we say 'impossible'
It never is too late!

And if it changed, this world,
What kind of noise would it make?
A crack, a bang, a hiss or a pouff!
Would it be silent - how long would it take?

Not long if we all do our best,
We'll work pretty hard and then take a rest.
We'll see the world changing in dreams while we're sleeping.
Silently turning, this world that we're keeping.

11 Jan, 2012

LoL Sticki, GoY is pushing at the boundaries of our creative thought process!! Enjoy your cuppa!

11 Jan, 2012

ineffectual, sorry for yourself, bored, thats what they WANT you to be Lulu, we have to RISE UP against them, FIGHT back, gather you weapons, FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT, unleash the bombs!!!!!!!!!oohh....err,..oops apocalypse : /
soz about that.

Well thats a lovely lovely poem Lulu and I hereby declare that I Stevie TT am officially clicking the 'like' button ...cerrrlick.
A well deserved clicky likey there.

11 Jan, 2012

If its any consolation, I must confess my thoughts are often unclear too, its a bit difficult to hear them sometimes, what with the other voices in my head ; )

I too am finding it hard to find a positive and useful path for myself. Many people I know are 100% (not even 99% : 0) convinced I should a comedian, I have found this rather insulting as i was being serious at the time of those discussions (well what else is there for you Stevie!!!!!!!!) : /
However I suppose I am lucky cause my kidneys seem fine but I have a toilet that looks like it might back up any day now. and yes I suppose I too am one of the ineffectual (aren't we all to some degree). I am not sorry for myself though but occasionally I get bored (and then I come on here (or make chutney)

11 Jan, 2012

wow lulu, pink oranges, i was worried they had you on ultra strong medicine!??

i dont doubt that the world will change nor do i doubt that i wont like all the changes. I dont think government will ever get it right, perhaps im cynical but i cant see it ever happening...they dont have the mind set to make it all perfect.

which leaves making effective changes at least on a small scale and appreciating the beautiful to you and me ~ whether we are naive or innocent or not. We/I cant ignore the fact that there are always going to be threats to spoil the pure and beautiful but sometimes i choose to ignore those so that i can enjoy something lovely.

am i making sense, i shall have a headache after all this thinking!!!
what im trying to say [i think] is that we all have to be responsible for recognising when we can change something and doing it [cos you just cant leave it to the politicians] as well as taking time to appreciate simplicity and beauty and each other???!!!

11 Jan, 2012

Well said Stevie n' Sticki!

11 Jan, 2012

Phew all you thinkers! Well said. Reminds me of this thought for the day . . .
"Give me the courage to change the things I can change, the grace to accept the things I can't change, and the wisdom to know the difference"!

11 Jan, 2012

That's a great example Sheila good one, that quote 'used' to be a great quote, but in today's climate!

11 Jan, 2012

Methinks Lulu is on acid lol.
GOod poem tho! :))))))))))))))))))))

11 Jan, 2012

Nope pix, just fairly simple painkillers!! Will be better when mixed with a glass of wine later!
Well done Sheila, great quote..

11 Jan, 2012

Not supposed to mix Lulu!!! (wagging finger)

'the grace to accept the things I can't change'. GRACE? the grace to accept things I can't change, used to be able to easily and should be able to now but these days its made harder if not impossible to, ok then god over to you, pull your finger out..!!

quick update, I'll tell you what is ungraceful though, my toilet is bubbling again!!

11 Jan, 2012

caustic soda stevie??

11 Jan, 2012

I'd rather a rum n black pls Sticki : )

I think its the water table here, its gone up so the drain away isn't working like it should. When my neighbours flush from there 1st floor I think it forces an air block down.

now join hands pls -
Oh dear god we pray to you now...
Give me the courage to change the toilet issues I can change, the grace to accept the toilet issues I can't change, and the plumbing to know the difference..
Oh dear god, we praise you and are thankful for the flushes you have provided me on this day
amen..

11 Jan, 2012

and the price of toilet tissue which is a different issue altogether.

rum n black coming up!

sheila i will have to confess ~ I dont always have the courage [but wish i had]; i rarely have the wisdom and i definitely dont have the grace [despite being a tuesday's child].

Lulu see what you started!! what a blog this has turned into.

11 Jan, 2012

If there were in the world today any large number of people who desired their own happiness more than they desired the unhappiness of others, we could have paradise in a few years.
Bertrand Russell (Dept for Work n Pensions)

11 Jan, 2012

Thats a good quote Stevie, and some fantastic poetry and great thoughts flying around! but you know what "they" say - that there's no such thing as Utopia and well, if there was we would all be bored stiff with nowt to do! The communists tried it...say no more!

11 Jan, 2012

Who wants Utopia? How about reliable toilets!

11 Jan, 2012

Toilutopia

12 Jan, 2012

very good lulu!!

12 Jan, 2012

Bertrand Russell was a wise man, Stevie. My favourite of his quotes is:
"War does not determine who is right - only who is left". (sigh)

13 Jan, 2012

Well Sheila, yes Bertrand Russell is quite an interesting character, thought of as a bit of a genius by some and evil by others! but some good quotes to be sure

13 Jan, 2012

Just a quick update on the toilet situation btw,

still the occasional bubbling but the water level is much lower now, being sucked back the other way
However this is how they got Elvis so just so we are clear I am NOT planning to commit suicide on the toilet and if you dont hear from me for a few days call the toilet police ok.

13 Jan, 2012
